A Sinterklaas wishlist works best when it solves coordination without turning pakjesavond into administration. Put the useful wishes in one place, let guests reserve privately and keep the final choices out of sight of the person receiving the gifts.
This guide gives you a simple setup for a family, school-age child, student house or group of adults.
Start with one list per recipient
One large family list looks efficient, but names quickly disappear in a busy WhatsApp conversation. A separate list for each recipient makes three things clear:
- who the gift is for;
- which colour, size or edition is wanted;
- how many of the same item would still be useful.
Give every list a recognisable title such as "Pakjesavond Noor". Do not put a home address, school name or other unnecessary personal details in the title or description. A direct link is easy to share without making the list searchable.
Mix wishes at different prices
A useful Sinterklaas list should not feel like an invoice. Combine small, medium and larger ideas so every guest can choose comfortably.

Add the exact product link when a version matters. For a general wish such as "a dinosaur book", use the description to explain what would make it right rather than forcing one shop.
Use quantities for repeatable gifts
Some gifts are useful more than once. Craft supplies, socks or a favourite book for two households should not become unavailable after the first reservation. Set the wanted quantity to the number that genuinely makes sense.
For a one-off gift, keep the quantity at one. Once a guest reserves it, other visitors see that the need is covered. The owner does not need to see who chose it, so the surprise remains intact.
When several relatives celebrate separately, agree whether the quantity applies to the whole family or to one gathering. A single shared list works only when everyone reads the number in the same way.
Agree on one reservation rule
Tell guests what a reservation means: reserve only when you intend to buy, and release it if plans change. A reservation should coordinate real intent, not hold several options while somebody decides.

Check unfamiliar shops before ordering

A calm sharing message
Keep the message lighter than the list:
We made one Sinterklaas list so we do not accidentally buy the same thing. Choose only if something suits you, and reserve it so the others can see it is covered.
No explanation about accounts is needed. Guests open the public link, reserve without giving Wisploft a name and continue to the original shop.
Final check before sharing
- Remove wishes that are no longer wanted.
- Check sizes, colours and quantities.
- Include several price ranges and at least one non-material idea.
- Open every shop link once.
- Share the public link, never the private management link.
One extra minute here prevents most awkward messages later. Read the list as a guest would read it: can they understand the wish, see the right version, choose a fair budget and know whether a used or homemade option is welcome? If the answer is yes, the list is useful without becoming demanding.
